Will be interesting to see what they mean by “full simulation” 

If this really is a ‘full simulation’ and they have Porsche… Instant buy and instantly to the top spot of most anticipated sim for this year.

Its a bit like saying full sex, instead of just, sex.

Hmm something tells mate SMS are behind this somehow. After reading it back it all screams of SMS and their style. Maybe a sister company or something or maybe this is part of the investment that was announced a while back. I watched the video from the other day and HUD, gear selection and menu are identical. Could just be the engine being used but this screams of SMS

I first noticed this in a comment about pCARS here on VR the other day. I got the impression they seemed to be suggesting this had something to do with SMS; anyone know anything more?

With EA having Porsche’s licence, it would be strange if SMS was the developer since it seems they are no more friends.

It could be SimBin too since I read somewhere they wanted to launch a F2P…

SMS should have some contacts at EA so maybe they aren’t too difficult with the Porsche license.
This would have been funded by someone else who would have paid EA for the license, probably Fanatec.

Maybe your right but it’s screaming SMS to me. It’s Porches own game so license doesn’t matter and everything screams SMS even down to the website

sure Porsche has got such a diverse car list! The only real reason people want do drive Porsches is because they are not available or should I say it in the singular! Once you play it the “magic” will fade away specially with such  a boring rear engine car!

I disagree. Porsches’ mods for Race07 and rFactor were among the most interesting to drive. Those cars had so much lift oversteer… so much great fun, you could take corners almost without using the wheel.

I agree when you say to drive! Because it’s a great road car fine tuned so gentlemen can become “devils” on the track. What I mean they all drive the same and react the same there’s no over the edge feeling to it. It’s very comparable to the Miata in what it demands from drivers but that’s a plus for many people I know. 

I don’t have time to play all these great looking sims…..

PCars claims to be a simulation. However it´s just NFS in better graphics.

Is it really just a Porsche-only title or a mixed car title? Bit confusing since every article tells another story. I mean, the promo poster doesn´t say “Porsche Motorsport Online”. It sais “Porsche Motorsport. Online.” which sounds more like Porsche is just part of the game.

Alot points to this being SMS and a sister company somehow. The name itself Automaniax is just so SMS’s style, it’s quite a consoley sounding name.. Real this and Real that is also the style of SMS and they have a history of producing sims for car manufacturers, pretty sure the BMW sim was their work or a least Blimey which was effectively SMS.

I hope it is a new sim being made by a new sim developer but i’m sure it isn’t.

Just got an email back from them saying that the closed beta will start at the end of April and they are trepidantly hoping for my participation. I’ll try not to disappoint them but if the Assetto Corsa guys make me a better offer I’ll have them bid against one another for my valuable services.

That may be true for the more modern Porsche, but the older ones before all of their car stability electronics were much more of a handfull, especially in the wet.

Exactly, they don’t call the old (930) 911 turbo  ”The widow maker” for no reason. You have to be on top of your game to drive one of those quickly or it will eat you.

However this turns out, I hope it will be a fitting tribute to the man that made it all possible…

There is a frame at 00:31 where you can clearly see the pCARS interface with the 3 gray squares you get when you pause a race in progress.  

This is made using the same engine as pCARS (look around 30sec.).
Obviously it’s another game by sms.. after releasing the Test Drive Ferrari game they must have moved on to this new project. My guess would be that they are publishing it on their own this time.
I can be wrong but that would be my guess.

Buffoons give you money to write a title.

You use the money to write an engine and use it to develop n titles, knowing that you only have to give back money to the buffoons who paid for its development for one of those titles and you only have to pretend you’re listening to those buffoons when talking about that one title.

After all, they’re buffoons, they didn’t stop to think.

If the title the buffoons are waiting for their pay day on does or doesn’t make money, you don’t care – you can even tell them you did what they voted for if it fails. Sympathise with them and enjoy the money you made with the other titles they paid you to make.

 So all publishers are Buffoons…

 Isn´t it funny that people register just to bash against a game. How poor is this?

No, publishers don’t hand over their money on the developer’s flimsy “this is not an investment” terms.

 I just find all the hating really funny these days. If they use the engine to develop other games without giving me money I would be thrilled as it’s an amazing engine. I paid them $50 for Full Membership. Do I expect to reap thousands of dollars in benefits? No. I expect to get a kick ass game (it’s already better than the racing games I’ve previously played) and if I make some money back so be it.

You pay $50 for a racing game and get nothing back but a game. If Project CARS provides the same then they’ve done nothing wrong. Also, they listen to the forum complaints and feedback. BELIEVE ME they listen as we are very vocal and demanding.

 Ricoo – I’m sure a professional troll doesn’t want to be confused with facts like how much development work the devs that make up the SMS pCARS team have done on RBR, GPL, and GTR2 between them.

Someone has got frightened by the now forcibly cancelled Enduracers Porsche mod and made sure they cant release it by the looks of it. Automaniax had better make this as good as Enduracers mods or they’ll get lambasted for it by the sim community.
