Audio Track Guides – Released

Ever wondered if there’s a better way to learn a new track than just looking at the track map?  Nick Day’s Audi Track Guides make exploring unknown circuits much more pleasant, providing narration for your first laps on a new circuit.

Audio Track Guides offers ten free guides for popular tracks that can be found in many simulations such as the Nürburgring, Brands Hatch or Sebring. If you find Nick’s work helpful, a small donation will give you access to eight more guides to popular circuits, new guides are being added on a regular basis.

Very cool concept. Wouldn’t it be cool though to build a plugin for rFactor that will sync up the playback with the start/finish line and restart the guide each lap. The plugin could also record your own notes at you lap. So you could put it in recording mode and then right as you cross the start/finish line the recording would begin. Then you could record your own notes as you lap the track. Then you can switch it to playback mode. You could then share your notes. I guess this wouldn’t help learn the track but you could store your notes for a latter date. Some times you will not visit a track for 6 months or so and it takes several laps to refresh your memory.

Audio notes about the track? Reminds me of my co-driver, who one time got annoyed by my ‘running commentary’ and told me to shut up :sd:
