Assetto Corsa – Two New Previews

Kunos Simulazioni has released two new previews of their Assetto Corsa simulation.

The first shot shows the Ferrari F458 Italia at Monza, the car is part of a five-car licensing deal with Ferrari that was recently announced.

The other shot shows the BMW Z4 GT3 sporting the BMW works team livery, marking the first time we get to see the Z4 sporting proper racing colors in Assetto Corsa.

Assetto Corsa will be powered by a brand new DirectX 11 graphics engine and will come with advanced features such as blur & DOF. The title will offer extensive modding support as well as ten laser-scanned tracks and fully licensed cars as well as AI – A first for a Kunos title.

Assetto Corsa will be available in Q1 2013, the title will feature licensed cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, BMW & Lotus.

    exactly!! yer we have seen the 458, nice to see the bmw though, but if anyone at kunos is reading this, please explain why you haven’t made a beta/alpha that we could try yet?! seriously why, it looked fine at the gamescom.

    Just get an I7 and a 7950. Look for a crossfire supported mainboard, incase you need a second 7950. I hope you can affort something like that. If so, the important thing is to wait till AC comes out and to purchase it then. :P

    i7 alone costs a zillion dollars….but maybe my Phenom X4 @4,0ghz and OC-ed 670gtx will pull this baby. Who knows..?

    Oh, I hope it’s going to be fun to drive like (rf,nkp etc.), because from screens and videos it looks excellent.

    an i7 is for epeen. An i5 is plenty for gaming.

    Too True. A nice dual core and monster GPU is all you need for gaming these days. My last gen 2500K and 5970 still power through every game that I play. Be it Battlefield 3 or rFactor 1.

    Aris tells that it actually runs on quite sensible specs thanks to dx11 and seemingly efficient code

    So a modern gfx card with 2gigs of ram should be ok.

    I really hope the gaming community get behind AC (assuming it will be good). The major gaming websites don’t seem to be giving it the attention it deserves.

    FLARE.

    Finally, someone has learned that eyes =/= camera lenses.

    Mind = blown.

    Eyes have lenses too…. the flare just don’t look like star, as when light is reflecting and passing through several lenses.

    The major gaming websites said that Max Payne 3, Hitman Absolution, Assassins Creed 3 and Black Ops 2 were good games and rated them 8 or above.
    Protip.
    Never believe what the major gaming sites say about anything. They are paid to give good reviews.

    I think he meant that humans do not see lens flare as is portrayed in PC games which show flares, stars, and the like? IIBC we do experience lens flare but for humans it is a glare and not the effects as described in previous sentence.

    I hope this will be the first title to beat GT5 in road car simulation!

    Since we know we will have the 458 which is also in GT5 (and very well accurately simulated) it will be great to compare it with AC! I have driven the 458 IRL so I can do some real life comparisons as well.

    One test I will surely do is compare lap times on Monza with the 458 real-life time (hopefully we can find some good benchmark with a standard road car and good driver) versus AC and GT5.

    Hopefully we will be able to do the same comparison on the Nordschleife where we have some very good real car benchmarks available. GT5 scores amazingly well compared with real life (much more accurate than any other simulation to date). I really hope that AC can match that accuracy and perhaps even surpass it.
