Assetto Corsa – Triple-Screen Previews

Kunos Simulazioni has released a new preview of Assetto Corsa, showing the recently-added triple-screen support in action.

The shot shows the new feature with two different cars at Imola and Monza. Kunos has added comprehensive support for triple screens, featuring separate rendering with fully configurable settings such as monitor angle, distance eye to screen, bezel compensation as well as screen width & size.

Four days of work went into the new feature as Stefano Casillo reported on Twitter.

4 days of hard working on the triple screen support gave good results. Marco is taking the victory shots.. I’ve earned my beer for tonight.

Assetto Corsa will be powered by a brand new DirectX 11 graphics engine and will come with advanced features such as blur & DOF. The title will offer extensive modding support as well as ten laser-scanned tracks and fully licensed cars as well as AI – A first for a Kunos title.

The left monitor is misaligned :p. Joking aside, very nice of them to do a real time setup.

Yep, the triple screen support, while of no use to me at the moment, is something that a good few sim-racers will appreciate. Looks like they’re doing a great job with it.

Can my eyes ever been taken away from this warp free goodness!?!!??? I’m almost afraid now to ask for highly adjustable eyepoint options.

Excellent work, and it’s great that his much needed level of support was considered and developed. I applaud KS for their work!

    Ask for it!

This was probably worked on sooner than later because KS reads the stuff we post here, and places like driving italia. Kudos to Kunos because everyone was expecting this after launch

Take your time for a second beer Stefano. Good work. Keep it up ! I’m looking forward to your sim.

    Looks great!

Really hope they spend a few days on 3D support as well!! Cant drive anything in 2D anymore, 3D gives an amazing immersion experience with 1:st person views! The interior of the cars looks REAL and the sense of speed is tripled!

Looks pretty nice. Good to see something warp free. The only thing I am a bit confused is the angle the side monitor render the image. Looks perspectively off to the centre image. But might be the angular of the view to the monitors.

Bravooo!!! Whell done ;) Can`t wait to tray AC

This will only look proper from the drivers perspective, when the horizon is at eye level.
These pictures where taken from a bit to high angle.
At home when people standing behind my rig they say it looks like the images are not aligned.
Till they are seated down and everything falls in place.
With separate rendered side-screens the images becomes much more 3D.
Making you feel you are totally involved and surrounded by the game.

    Kudos to Kunos!

As an avid iRacer who uses triple screens I was disappointed that Assetto Corsa wasn’t going to properly support them from the off. So pleased they’re taken notice of the community and made a big effort to get it implemented so quickly.

iRacing for online racing with triple screens, Assetto Corsa for offline racing with triple screens – I’ll be a happy man.

Here’s hoping that, like SMS, they’ve purchased a dev kit for the Oculus Rift which is what I’m hoping for. I don’t have the money for a triple screen setup, the graphics card needed to drive it, and the rig needed to hold it. The Oculus Rift might be the saving grace for us!

Anything to further immersion in the racing genre is welcome, though!

Thank you so much for this Kunos! Full triple screen support is very important to me so this will be a must buy for me for sure. Only two other PC race sims fully support triple screen that I know of and that is LFS and iRacing. rFactor one’s ‘Multiview’ is not full support and rFactor 2 has not bothered on improving it so far so I am very happy you have taken the time to do this. I just hope it won’t require a PC that has not been made yet to run it!

Just makes me wish I had triple screens more :(
