LOL netKar Pro for 5 euros. Everyone buy this because this is a STEAL. (it was a steal even before when i bought it for 15…). Then download Culmone’s Imola and take the Vintage GT for a BLAST of a ride (while waiting for AC of course).

Yeah…I dont think soup analogies really apply to game development, and I rather wait a bit more to get a polished release than not being able to download the build at all due to messy servers and then having to see Kunos take the blame and have that affect them in a negative way.

I downloaded nKp last night and was impressed with the way it felt. The Fiat was a bit odd with virtually 90 degrees to full lock and it wouldn’t let me adjust FOV. But these are silly little things, I’m very excited to drive the Elise soon. :)

I had never tried netKar Pro before and now I saw it on sale for just 5€ so I couldn’t resist and I finally bought it. I’m amazed. I really am! So much fun! Kud(n)os!

With al the previous statements in mmd I wont excite this time. It probably wil be released at about 3 or 4 weeks. And we then we wil have to waait untill Q3 for the release of the full sim. Still not regretting refunding my iRacing account.

The net code wasn’t great nor is it a very recent game. It’s still a must-own for avid sim racers. ~wink~

i was a little saddened when it was at 15 euros, but at 5 it’s a no brainer. I’m back to happy mode again, and will happily buy NKP at this price just to add it to my collection.

Ye FOV is a bit awkward in Nkp, you have to change that per car setup :P

The only thing sad is somebody that can’t spare a few dollars for a sim with the best physics and FFB available now.

Clever marketing of a dead product and at the same time enabling hyping of a new one. Myself, I would not want to put my name on such a marketing scheme in any possible way or form. If being totally honest it makes me physically sick.

It makes you physically sick that a developer would give first taste of new product to the customers that helped make said product possible…I would love to know what the doctor would call that ailment and is it terminal?

Not sure how the product is dead, either…just got out of a room online and everything about the game still works fine for me…

5 EUR for Netkar Pro is crazy!!

I only drove some early beta version years ago and bought it for 15 EUR 3 days ago. WOW!!

Netkar PRO has THE BEST tire model and physics I’ve ever driven!! The FFeedback is excellent as well, in some areas even better than rF2 (who IMO is/was best) and some slightly below!

The chasie balance and grip is so progressive and dynamic in ways ive only felt IRL! You can get into those slight slides with the rear tires when the suspension geometry sets in and keeps a slight drift when just over the limit to then transition into more “normal” oversteer if you push it more… The 1800 Formula car is the most progressive and realistic handling sim car ive driven, and im not even into Formula cars that much…

If AC has NetKarPRO physics, tiremodel and FF (no changes needed) with updated visuals (which we have seen), the officially licensed cars (which we know) and the known included tracks (which we know) and the modding capability (stated + nkPRO weakest link) + AI for offline racing its the best sim ever, easily…

As anyone had a real good look at the screen shot posted on that site?
I’m wondering what their PC spec’s are, because the frames per second don’t seem to go higher than 20fps, and the Tec preview only features one vehicle & one track.

You’re not complaining about their marketing scheme, you’re complaining about having to wait. Life isn’t fair dude, grow up. They’re going to release a proper demo in a few months for all the “sim racers” that somehow don’t own nKp. You can wait instead of whining about missing out on one car and one track.
Also, they didn’t at all have to lower the price of nKp, most dev’s would’ve just left it at 15 euros, but they wanted to make it easy on everyone. Kunos has always been a very reasonable developer that cares about it’s community, apparently you’re not apart of that community but you expect them to care about you? ridiculous.
It’s pathetic that people like you live in your own little world, and complain when things don’t go your way.

This isn’t the free demo, that will come in a couple of weeks/months.
This is a technology preview available for the customers that bought Nkp as a bit of a thank u for sticking with them and supporting them

Yes you’re right I remember. I think the most correct one for triple screens was the absolute minimum fov you could choose ingame.

you’re kinda right…it’s not “free” and it’s not a demo….it’s actually a gift for previous customers and it’s a test to see how it runs on a myriad of systems….the FREE DEMO will be out when the full game is released…..but since about a dozen people have already stated this and you still don’t get it you probably can’t comprehend this post anyway.

I don’t hate iRacing, why would I want them to fail? I am knee deep in content that I pray one day is up to the standard we were told it was/should be.

I am however going to call them on their BS to counteract the people who I am not convinced dont have a stake in the place (more than membership and content) who post here on a regular basis. Working just fine on my 6970 with 3 displays.

There is a FOV-fix plugin available. Google it.

That was something i was wondering too.
Framerates of sub 20, that’s not racing, that’s almost rendering.
Hopefully it was a low spec pc where they made the screenshots with.

I run NV surround & also had FOV issue where it doesn’t do anything, with a Google search i found a fix by Kegetys @ race2play website Hope this is ok to post

Also enables anisotropic texture filtering

Glad to this being released but I’l happily wait for the demo, have no desire to buy NkPro.

Well, you don’t achieve that by having a qualifying condition of owning a previous release.

It’s up to them what they do, but let’s not pretend this isn’t a pretty obvious and exploitative way of leveraging income out of a hungry audience – by shifting units of a game that is obsolete to get a taste of what is making it obsolete.

They want feedback – and you have to pay them to give it! Well, you work for them (and pay for the pleasure) if you want.

Is someone holding a gun to your head? Again, if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, if you don’t feel like supporting a little indie dev who’s trying to bring out possibly the new next gen sim, well… Don’t do it and wait for the demo or full game. I really don’t see why you have such issues with this.
I’m willing to bet that 80% of simracers most likely already had the game anyway so for most of us it’s just the case of waiting for the links. If they can create extra revenue for themselves to get perhaps another licence, perhaps get another track, I can only say do your best Kunos.

Did you pay anything for this “Technology Preview”? Why are you complaining, that’s what I don’t understand!!

Since July or August there as been a rumour about this TD and always refered as a closed version for netkar users.

They also explain why they are going to do it only for netkar users, justifying that the netkar users are already familiarized with the major problems they get from netkar experience, so the feedback will be more precise and less “spontaneous” (like “bahh.. this game suck, I can’t even start my car, where is the button to turn the car ON… bahh”).

That was also a form that KS team find to say “Thank You” to previous owners.

They even get the price down to a ridiculous 5 € to allow more people to support them and try their new WORK, yes its work done by some people don’t forget that….. I guess you like to be paid after you doing your job… right? I do!

But clearly you don’t recognise the downside. You don’t recognise any downside to it.

They want $5 for a tech test.

If they want feedback, why should people pay for the privilege?

If they want feedback and exposure, why limit it thus?

It doesn’t make sense – except for those 5 dollars, of course. But even then, will that $5 revenue make-up for the loss in goodwill from limiting access in such cynical fashion? I think it’s a bad and dumb move.

Rather open it up – have confidence it will blow people away and make its own publicity. And gets loads of feedback – including from people who DO NOT have NKP, have no experience of Kunos products, no experience of driving games, whatever. I think it’s dumb to miss out on all that feedback tbh. Companies and Institutions pay a lot of money to get the sort of feedback Kunos are squandering – and for the sake of $5 a pop.

They must need the dough, I guess, but I think it’s a bad decision – and one that has been kept pretty quiet.

Speaking personally, Kunos has lost some of my goodwill. I doubt I am the only one……

New customers are often offered inducements ie deals better than those for existing customers. Not worse.

Wrong! I had never heard of this supposed rumor. You guys (incl Ramalho, Michael H) need to drop the fanboy attitudes, it is really tiring to read. So, if they wanted people familiar with NKPro, why can I go buy it now and try the demo? Defeats that purpose. Also, why would I want to now go buy NKPro so that it can sit on the shelf uninstalled? I have other sims I am currently driving, don’t have the bandwidth (or the desire with AC on the way) to add NKPro to my arsenal.

No, it isn’t a big deal, but like was said, “leaves a bad taste in my mouth.” the fanboys are the ones that decided to elevate it to being a major coup, or the like.

A the part that really gets me….they released a ‘tech preview’ to the people that are already in line to buy it. They should be reaching out to those that don’t have experience with NKPro. After all, just about everyone thinks that AC will be the top dog based on their experience with NKPro. If they are trying to flush out issues, I would call that a closed Beta, not a preview.

Note my link again, they’re intending to test the license activation system as well. Using prior nKP licenses lets them do that.

They gave everyone a $10 discount on their old game who wanted it, and only those too impatient to wait for the demo NEED to pay it. It must be hard to be this negative.

Publishing a whole bunch of free licences for the tech demo would better test their system. That’s really no excuse.

I’m not being especially negative – just saying this could (and should) be handled better.

Doing it this way they will inevitably alienate part of their target audience. That’s a cost to goodwill which offsets any extra revenue they might raise from making NKP ownership a condition of trying the tech demo.

Am I more or less inclined towards AC now? Less. No big deal to me – it’s not my business.
