Kunos Simulazioni have released new previews of their Assetto Corsa simulation, showing off the BMW E30 M3, historical Monza & more.

Along with the new previews, Jon Denton has released a very extensive written recap of his recent visit to Kunos. His extremely detailed article includes some interesting new info such as that Kunos expects the first version to be out in Q1 2013 with a tech demo being available earlier.

Jon also describes the recent physics improvements in detail so make sure to check out his excellent article here.

Last but not least, a new video is also available, showing Aristotelis Vasilakos driving the Pagani Zonda R around Monza.

Assetto Corsa will be powered by a brand new DirectX 11 graphics engine and will come with advanced features such as blur & DOF. The title will offer extensive modding support as well as ten laser-scanned tracks and fully licensed cars as well as AI – A first for a Kunos title.

Give me more, and take my money.

I really want to see that E30 in action!

    • Roger

I want to drive and drift it! 😀

You can watch me do it! 😉

      • speed1

I’ll do and i hope in live behind you 😉

I can’t decide which is most exciting.

    E30 M3.

Or the fact we will have those two together. I’ll put it this way, I’ll be making a beeline for that car as soon as this puppy is out. lol

Does anyone know if the other M3’s are planned? Would be nice to be able to drive the full set to see how much they’ve changed over the years.

I hope this is something they’re considering. I think having the full set (E30, E36, E46 and E92) made by the devs would bring more BMW fans in, and in terms of future content adding full generation sets of cars would be a good thing as far as developer additions to the car list, without going overboard and turning it into a too much of a “car collector” game, of course.

    • Jukka Karppinen

Don’t know if there will be others too but at least E92 (road and GT2) is coming.

      • StarFoXySxv550

Ah, Ok thanks for that info.
I did kinda forget the E21 323i, though I doubt anyone but than myself (and three others) actually would want to drive that in a sim 🙂

      • Komment Elek

I want to drive that too. Also an E36 328i would be awesome with a bit run-down exterior in cosmosblack metal. 🙂

The reflections on the red one are looking very nice. I’m looking forward to test this promising sim. I hope it is coming out soon.

      March 2013..

Oh is that a good release date ? A few months before the summer. Not really optimal or not ?

Im loving everything about AC but the drivers height. The guy must be at least 6’4 with a huge head and being 5’7 makes me feel not connecting with the driver in AC and as we know most real life drivers are 5’6-5’9 in height.

Where do you get this stuff? The average American (and German) male is 5’10”. Just about everyone is a ‘real life driver’ in the US… I happen to be flirting with 6’3″ and I am by no means an outlier. Now, with respect to professional drivers, as I suspect is what you really mean…I have no idea and I expect you don’t really either. Me wanting a 6’3″ driver would be just as valid as you wanting a 5’7″ driver.

        I want a 7ft driver – helps.

    • Roger

      Adjustable seat?? 🙂

I’m quite sure they would have that just like all other PC sims have to adjust your driving view up, down as well as backwards and forwards.

  • Roger

Hope they get the engine sound right on the M3!

With each new piece of information AC just seams better and better… Seams like the first tech preview is still on for December (“before Q1”) which sounds just great!

It certainly looks like they are ready for a tech demo judging by the screenshots and most of all video previews!

New video showing modding editor. Seems very friendly for modding with many already ‘apps’ available for easy editing.

Now one interesting part in video is when Stefano shows pong and it looks like html code on screen.

Wonder if this game will be html based editing?

Can someone translate what they are saying plz.

I think it was mentioned that the user interface will be done via HTML, so navigating menus will be like navigating a website.
