ALMS 2007 Mod – Download Checklist

Posted on August 8th, 2008 in

The American Le Mans Series mod for GTR2 will be out soon and now is the time to prepare your GTR2 installation.

Because the mod uses parts of several mods to provide a full field of cars, you need to have all of them installed to make most of it. The mod will work partly without those, you´ll not get to enjoy the full ALMS glory though.

Wow… this must be the result of a brainstorm session they had trying to figure out how to get the minimal number of people possible to enjoy their work.

Come on guys.. if you are going to spend all this time working on a mod at least package it as a single distribution.

I’m assuming you received permission to incorporate those items into your mod, why not take the needed components and include them.

Having to download 6 other mods to get one mod to work is just looney.

  2. morning_wood

this is a joke right? personaly have all the mods but consider the headroom required ( over 3 gigs of mods ) , not to mention the downloads ( over a gig there too ).

I give up.. where’s the download for Flying Lizards Team 996 Project :???:

Whats up with all this winge’ing and whining, their giving plenty of notice, and warning you before hand, would have been more of a problem if you downloaded it only to find out it did’nt work after the even,I dont see the difference myself than in checking your pc specs before you buy a game, just a case of making sure it will run before you take the plunge, all the info’s there, what more do you want ?
Did you want to pay for it or something ?
    Chill out peeps
Dont fall into the glass is half empty culture
There’s gona have been a lot of time and tears put into making these mods available, give em credit where it’s due

Nice work guys, Ive been looking forward to this for a while. Cant wait to play it. One small thing. The link for SCCA’s prototype mod from the web page takes me to the filefront homepage, from there I can only find v2.38, not v2.42, can anyone help. Also what versions of the WSGT, and JPBS mods are needed?

  10. HoW Monty

On pilsbierbude, there’s a download that only includes the Corvette. Look at the mods section.

  11. Judas

Fucking assholes… stop whining and go play GT4. You people make me want to vomit.

@Judas, well sue them for having a damn opinion !
I’d rather listen to whining than your foul mouth anyway.
The irony of course is that your post is also whining – not to mention overly dramatic. Are you a sensitive type of person ?
GT5 ? How out of date are you ?
I hope your post gets deleted because its awful to read.

As good as this mod will be, thats quite a list of stuff you have to have installed beforehand. Not ideal and quite off-putting.

  14. Pugamall

“As good as this mod will be, thats quite a list of stuff you have to have installed beforehand. Not ideal and quite off-putting.”
Then You have a choice dont use it then ?
My life whats up with everyone ?
Their not making you have it !,and the world wont end if you dont, their just saying what you will need if you make the choice to have it !
The fact that it’s taken a lot of work to make and they spent time making the mod for people like us and all we can do is moan, dont you think they might just say,why do we bother and not bother in future ?
I’ts not life and death and they are free, some people need to get their priorities sorted(by the way its only my opinoin)

  15. Bram

Agreed on Pugamall. Nobody forces you to download it all, it isn’t even necessary per se as the new cars will work without those as well.

  16. Pinje

anyone had any luck finding a download for the ALMS skins?

Where is Ferrari F430 and Porsche 997 GT3 RSR ? A ? Where are they ? When I can downloan this cars ?

  19. Pinje

    Thanks Montoya

  20. anonymous

The 997 and the 430 will be in the release, this is just a preparation to be able to race with all cars

  21. F1Racer

    @Pugamall

“Then You have a choice dont use it then ?”

Firstly that is not a question, so why the question mark?

Again, another overly sensitive and over-dramatic comment.
I don’t need a whole chapter from you just to explain the concept of ‘choice’
To say you miss the point is an understatement.
How do you know that I might not still want to play it and go through all the mod installs first but have a little bit of a wonder as to why they didn’t work out a way to singly distribute it ?
Not being 100% satisfied and happy does not mean that I shall not or will not still go ahead and play it.
Its not nothing to do with anyone forcing me to download or play it and nor is it a clear cut case of ‘if I don’t like it then you don’t have to download it’. That’s a very old and quite frankly weak argument.
You’re basically saying to anyone with a less than positive opinion on something to just not bother with it.
It simply doesnt work that way. If it did, half of the parent would be dumping their kids and vice versa.

  22. F1Racer

Oh and please don’t try and lecture me on how much time mod makers put in and all that jazz. I’ve had the dubious honour of having to dish that lecture out a few times myself having been involved with mod team in the past. I’m well aware of what goes on and how much time is put in. But that’s not the issue here is it ?

  23. Pugamall

F1Racer with the comment “Oh and please don’t try and lecture me on how much time mod makers put in and all that jazz. I’ve had the dubious honour of having to dish that lecture out a few times myself having been involved with mod team in the past.”

Then you really should understand you should be commending them on their work, and them making it freely available to us and not whining about what it is not, after all its not something you designed and they made, but made wrong
It’s their work and you should take it with the grace it is given.
In a world where we now get very little for nothing, I’m fed up with ungreatfulness and people who are less then curtious when something is done for them.
Oh and yes I know my grammer is far from perfect, but if it makes you feel superior it’s fine by me chap, Crack on

  24. F1Racer

Pugamall, I already know I’m superior, I don’t need your bad grammar (not grammer) to confirm it.
You don’t need to go all brown-nosing to the mod makers either. I wasn’t whining at all. Saying that downloading all those other mods is far from ideal is NOT whining.
Its a statement of opinion which is perfectly valid.
When I said it was off-putting I meant in general, not necessarily for me personally. Nor does it mean that I or anyone else WILL be put off. More like it being more off-putting than say, ooh, a single download. Which is true imo.
I’m guessing you didn’t get that bit.

Also no, I don’t HAVE to be commending them on their work. Lets get one thing straight, produce the good stuff and I`ll have no hesitation to step in an say how great I think it is.
I’m sure their mod will be great (as I said in my original post which you failed to pick out) and if I can be bothered to get it and I like what they’ve done, I`ll certainly let them know – the same as I would with any other mod.
But, it’s not out yet and until it is I don’t HAVE to say or do anything.
Although I don’t have to explain myself to you, just for your records, I already respect and appreciate any modder putting in their own free time to feed our addiction. I’ve said that many times. Surely you don’t expect me to put it in every post. So you can take that as a given.
When it comes to whinging, your whinging at me seems to be biggest thing in here.
Well at least until this post  but at least we’re not whinging about the mod eh ? Lets all put our hands together for the mod makers out there, yeeeeahhh <– er..that’s sarcasm btw.

  25. A

Lets all put our hands together for F1Racer for blessing us with his arrogance once again and succesfully being the center of attention in one more thread

    Thanks A.
I`d just like to begin by thanking everyone involved in this project, and a big thank you first to Microsoft who made the software that allows my computer to run which enables me to type these posts.
I`d also like to thank my fellow posters without whose posts I couldn’t strike up a conversation.
I`d particularly like to offer my sincere thanks to the posters like Pugamall who are sensitive enough that they think its fine to jump on someone for making a comment that isnt 100% positive about an aspect of a mod and then reckons the only way around that is to tell them not to use it – using the old and illogical ‘you have a choice’ routine.
I don’t know where I`d be in this thread if it wasn’t for him. I couldnt have done it without him so please, a big hand, for Pugamall….
This is such a great honour but I would be amiss if I didn’t mention the makers of the amazing ALMS 2007 mod. I think I can speak for everyone in this thread when I say how appreciative we are of their time and commitment (like virtually all mod makers), and of their sheer dedication and passion (like virtually all mod makers) resulting in what I`m sure will be an exceptional mod once you’ve trudged through the installation procedure :) – sorry guys… had to get that on in :)

Lastly I`d like to thank my biggest family, my fellow simmers who sit and read through this and other websites and I’d just like to say how honoured I am to share the same passion of sim racing with you guys.
    Thanks, thank you very much

Seriously A, its not intentional and Im far from an attention seeker. As long as my reply is read by the intended person I don’t care if no-one else sees it. I`d be happy to do this over PM or MSN.
I big posts show up for debates though, thats all. But you`ll notice a few compliments of mine dotted about in a few other mods thread but you can’t really get more than a few lines from those – plus no-one noticies them.
Anyway lets face it, this place would be a little less active were it not for people like myself who actually don’t sit there and take crap from people for no apparent reason.
You know the type – the drama queens.

  28. jam

    hehe f1racer

was a good read keep it up

“You know the type – the drama queens.”

Yes, we’ve come to know you all too well.

  30. F1Racer

:) thanks jam, glad you appreciate the light sarcasm there, hehe

hey Da…er.. Anonymous – I suppose some can put me into that category by the way I don’t just sit quiet and reply in kind. So I can understand that comment.
But I wouldn’t really class my post as drama. I’m not really getting worked up about anything. I’m really quite calm when I’m posting.
Of course hiding behind that anonymous mask, we just don’t know you well enough :)
Oh, and don’t come it with the “we’ve”. Who else have you appointed yourself a speaker for ?
Oh wait, I know what it is, you’re pissed cos I didn’t include you in my acceptance speech. aaw, I’m so sowwy.

  31. F1Racer

btw Anonymous, you only seem to show up near me to have a jab at me whenever you see an opportunity so you’re kinda getting known for that yourself.
You’re like the lil’ devil on my shoulder. Maybe you like stalking me – are you a little pervo on the quiet D.D.?

  32. F1Racer

Ok ok I admit I’m making a mountain out of a mole hill.
And I’d like to say sorry to everyone
I’l try and stop being a comment whore in future

Wow this thread has gone seriously overboard. For the people complaining about all of the downloads needed to fully run the 2007 season, I understand the complaint, perhaps you can get JPBS and PerfectDark to grant me permissions to re-release their models, but I can already give you that answer. I am releasing our models (997,430,SR9,ARX’s, and re-releasing the RS Spyder (it’s our model as well)with different physics. You don’t have to DL the JPBS mod if you don’t want the Audi R10 and you don’t have to have the PD SCC mod if you don’t want the Creations. You will need the updated MC12 wheels.

My models will be fully standalone, so if you just want to use the models, you just need the Flying Lizard Project mod. Currently our 997 is using the sounds of the FL project, since the person who was going to do sounds didn’t come through. Not that big of a deal.

I can’t re-release JPBS’s Audi R10, nor can I re-release the SCC mod, neither of which are mine. If that is a deal breaker then all I can say is thanks for considering downloading the mod, sorry it didn’t work out for you.

I can’t get the Corvettes working. I don’t have the old WSGT. Only the new one (v.1.0). I believe it’s looking for Corvette bits from the christmas mod. Is this correct? What can I do?

You can get a Corvette addon for WSGT that fixes the problem here:
