Posted on May 13th, 2008 in

Sim-Garage UK has released the second version of their popular 3DSimED tool for sim racing modders. 3DSimED supports a variety of 3d formats for various games and sells together with TrkMaker for 25 British Pounds.

Changelog

  • Export of Race 07 .GMT format including support of the fresnel shader used for Race 07 car models.
  • Direct file conversion of rFactor GMT to GTL, GTR2 and RACE 07 GMT. This allows objects created in 3DSMax and exported with the ISI plugin to be directly converted to other formats which will keep intact all information such as normals and uv mapping for all channels.
  • When importing GTR2, Race and Race 07 the uv mapping of the multiply channel is preserved.
  • Import and Export of Viper Racing .GRF, .MOD and rendering with .TEX texture maps.
  • Import and Export of Nascar Heat .GRF, .MOD and rendering with palette bitmap .TEX texture maps.
  • Sky objects be optionally drawn behind all other objects.
  • The mesh created from a .PTF can now be saved to disk, and user can control the resolution of the mesh.
  • All geometric data, including that in objects, can now be re-scaled with the ReSize Model function.
  • Faster importing of GPL tracks, making editing of very long tracks much easier.
  • Preservation of material names when importing and exporting DirectX .X files.
  • Support for recent changes to Bob’s Track Builder authored Richard Burns Rally tracks.
  • Improved Eye Viewing.
