Ok, to be honest this is not a good mod…. This is a Masterpiece! I absolutely love this! The feeling you get when you try to push the throttle is unbeliavable, the sounds are brilliant, the cars are really scary, but hey that’s how they were in those years! Only way somone driven these was either they were insane or they just loved it too much…. and were insane at the same time :)

Loving it and thank you Team Vintage, now we just need more than 1 track from the era and we’ll be in sim racing heaven :)

Just tried this out at Brooklands and Brianza (banking and current layout combo).    I am pretty bad :)
I was 8s off the pace of the pacesetting AI in the same car, hehe.     These things are loose in the corners !    Seems you have to treat it so gentle.    Certainly on Brianza banking I just hold the wheel lightly and just guide the car around and the car does the rest.

I need practice on this one :)

But looks like we are being spoiled this week what with this and the DRM 2.0b mod.  rF1 ain’t going anywhere soon !

These cars are amazing! They need a very gentle touch on slow circuits, and Biiiig cohones on the fast ones..

Quick tip to make them more managable on very quick bankings like Brookslands and Monza – Hardest springs front, softest in the rear, lost of (positive) camber in the front, little in the back and tighten the differential up hardly. Anything you can do, to take grip away from the front will make it easier on the banking / ovals, where you dont need it anyway.

I’m having a load of fun, too bad the servers online are empty! 

You guys are driving me nuts. I have finally downloaded the mod and my rFactor hangs every time I try to go to the track.

I am restarting now just in case the digital muck is preventing me from launching a race but it’s frustrating. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

 Same here, crashes all the time, when going on track,and when selecting a vehicle from each vehicle manufacturer, this occurs even on a clean rfactor lite install, the amount of times this mod has crashed, removed until fixed.

Can somebody tell me the track which is this onto the title picture here on virtualr?

I posted this 9 days ago on their forum.

Remove Alfa completely from your install, if you’re keen on driving all other apart from. Apparently it’s all down to it and Win XP.

I have downloaded the mod since yesterday 15 times at least, tried on both of my computers with new and old installs and haven’t had an issue hanging or not being able to select a car.

Ok, already drove all cars. They are indeed tricky to drive, but that was expected. And they’re very fun too. The force feedback of the 1500cc cars surprised me, as it feels like being reversed.

I like the default cockpit camera quite a lot, btw.

 Thank you, that fixed it, from what i have read, others are also having the ctd, when selecting the Alfa, hoping for a fix soon :)

I am not sure what the XP reference means. I am running Win 7 if that makes a difference. I am presently trying to run the mod without the Alfa but it’s still sitting on the loading screen. Maybe I didn;t take all the files out?

Please try doing fresh install of rf. Then set all details to max and DX9. 
For some obscure reason win xp users cant load the alfa. But on w7 all should work.

Btw I set a server “1937Rouen55″, if someone wants to join!

I was able to make it run by selecting carefully my car and the cars I drive against. Without the Alfa it runs well and it is indeed an exceptional piece of work.

Now, we need more period tracks.

Hmm, My dad tried this mod, he doesn’t do any sim racing etc. He loved the Alfa from 30′s for years, wanted to make a model and all but gave up. When I showed him this he instantly said: ” I’ll come later when you download it to try it out :) “. He sure has said the same thing as me. That the most beutiful sound is from the Alfa, of the 3 GP cars, and he also said that the Daimler for what he tried is easiest, I’d say that Daimler and Alfa are comparable, and around Brooklands Auto Union is The hardest, very easy to loose it near exit of the oval piece. My dad only reached about 230-240km/h, but hey, it’s not like we got there just in few minutes and he said he absolutely loved that feel of the cars, that there was nothing else than pure power ;) (my best top speed on a completed lap was 314km/h with the Daimler. Wasn’t easy to brake for the next tight left though ;) 

I hope everyone is enjoying this superb mod as much as I and my dad do!

 Yea… I guess surprised how much rf has lost steam, I remember the days a mod was released there were like instantly 10 servers running it and 40 people online all day lol.

I’m sorry but am I missing something here?  I use the in cockpit view in every mod I play and this mod is totally off the wall, your head moves in a complete opposite direction to the car, you get a completely alien sensation from driving in cockpit that makes driving utterly impossible at anything other than walking pace!  Absolute garbage if you use cockpit view for me.

I noticed on this video that the driver view the guys head doesnt move around everywhere, on mine you are almost spinning out the car when you turn the wheel! awful

Sounds lovely, looks great, but seems to be very little affort made to allow non bonet view players, is it just me?

The Cam file you’re looking for is included in the article above.  

 There is a static cockpit cam that you can download from above that fixes that.  I tried the default cockpit camera too, and I think its trying to replicate you leaning in the seat when you take a turn (as they didn’t exactly have 5 point harnesses back in the day).

 Please help! I can’t get Brooklands to load. The load screen comes up and it crashes immediately the trace reads: CUBE error loading scene file J:PROGRAM FILESRFACTORGAMEDATALOCATIONSBrooklands37GrandPrixGrandPrix.SCN: Error initializing scene file J:PROGRAM FILESRFACTORGAMEDATALOCATIONSBrooklands37GrandPrixGrandPrix.SCN

This happened withthe file i downloaded from the link above as well as a file I had on my HD for some time but never installed. I haven’t tred evvery version of the circuit but the same thing happes with Campbell.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi again. I’m having some issues with the Alfa Romeo and the AutoUnion (especially the Alfa Romeo). I’ve try both Voiturettes and they work fine. So did the Daimler-Benz. But, when I select the Alfa Romeo, 1 or 2 seconds later it crashes to desktop. I can’t even buy the car before this happens. It’s automatic with the Alfa, you select the car, it crashes inmediatly to desktop. And the AutoUnion too, but at least I’ve got to buy it and tried it, but sometimes it crashes to desktop when I select the car, or while the track is charging, ANY track. I thought it was an issue with my PC, so I’ve installed a clean rF LITE with only the mod, and the same exact thing happened. Anyway, I hope you guys deliver a Patch for this issue soon. The mod is a blast!!! I love the Maserati Voiturette and the Daimler-Benz!

Has anyone got an answer to the “weaving” these cars do when at speed? They feel like a wet newspaper. I can drive yes, but the car just will not keep straight on a straight?! I do not know what to say about the mod yet. I did try different setups, but maybe someone can give me a clue.
